&Beyond was created by Jess Rosevear and Takako Elliott who are both professional coaches, both mothers, and both passionate about supporting individuals and businesses through multiple changes.

We live in a world where some progress is happening with regards to gender pay gap and equality, but not enough to make long lasting change happen right now. One area we are particularly focussed on is supporting mothers coming back into the workplace.

We know that the return to work after maternity leave can be a challenge for a business and the individual returning, and time and time again we hear how the lack of support and communication can set the person back, which doesn’t help them or the business.  Research shows that on average, 60% of mothers change jobs after maternity leave and the average cost of replacing an employee is £30k.

To add to that, the pandemic has created further imbalance with mothers often taking the lead role in the home schooling, setting them back in their careers once again.

We are dedicated to supporting businesses and individuals to close the gap between where they are now and where they want to be, in order to create purposeful change for a fairer and better workplace.

 ABOUT OUR APPROACH

We feel strongly that by embracing everyone’s uniqueness and making the workplace more human, businesses will flourish.

We believe that the biggest obstacle to success and reaching potential is internal, not external.

And we believe that the best way to explore
internal challenges is through coaching:

  • We provide an environment of curiosity through thought provoking questions

  • We create a safe space for everyone to express themselves freely to explore where their internal challenges are coming from and how best to approach it

  • We allow our clients to come to their own unique solution rather than providing a ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution

ABOUT US

Jess

Jess is a fun loving, authentic and naturally curious person. She is here to cheer people up, cheer people on, to listen, comfort, and support.

She is a mum to two young boys and wife to a very supportive (tolerant) husband.

She is very passionate about what’s fair – equity and gender equality within the workplace being up there.

After her first maternity leave, she returned to the workplace and felt very alone and lacking in confidence in what she could do. The lack of support from the business was a key factor in her decision to leave and to set the wheels in motion to start supporting other women so that they didn’t have to go through what she had. This led to her qualifying as a coach and setting the wheels in motion to create &Beyond.

The results that can come from coaching are so powerful. She is certain that through holding space for people, allowing them to be vulnerable, and by supportively probing and helping them gain clarity on issues, they can completely smash that return to work for themselves and the business.

Takako

Growing up, Takako often found herself listening into adult conversations, quietly observing what was going on and taking note of everything that was being said and done.  She used to think that she was just very nosey, but actually the listening skills that she has been honing since a very young age has led her to find her passion in coaching.

Having been in a corporate career for 18 years, and becoming a mum of 2 during that time - she knows first hand how challenging it can be to be a working parent.  She was very lucky to work in an agency that was really supportive of working parents, but having coached many parents she knows that this isn’t a story shared by many...and the struggle to get everything at home and work done gets in the way of us being able to reach our version of success.

She knows from experience how life changing coaching can be, and if people can start to question what they feel is the status quo in life and start to see the choices that they have before them - it can be a transformative experience for them, their workplace and everyone around them.
